The Alaskan Opera Theatre Workshop for Singers in Valdez, Alaska Returns!

Anchorage Opera in partnership with Last Frontier Theatre Conference (Prince William Sound Community College) presents the 2nd annual Alaskan Opera Theatre Workshop for Singers.

Created by Torrie Allen and Dawson Moore, the Acting for Singers Workshop is a unique ‘theatre-centric’ training program for musical performers. The 2011 workshop will be held at the Last Frontier Theatre Conference in Valdez from June 12-18, 2011. An extraordinarily nominal registration fee covers not only the Workshop, but all events at the Conference, including:

Tickets for seven evenings of theatre.
A two-hour cruise to Shoup Glacier.
Other acting, directing and playwriting master classes.
Participation as a reader in the Play Lab.
Free daily lunch and a closing night gala dinner on the final Saturday.
Free minimal housing is made available by the college.

The goal of the Acting for Singers Workshop is to help singers explore opera performance and character development from a theatre-centric perspective. The program will serve as an enhanced program for opera singers; it is not meant to be a substitute for traditional opera workshops or training programs.
